Stone Walling
Dry Stone Walling
​
Any variety of stone masonry that have been trimmed to create a wall with smaller pieces of stone (hearting) to produce a finished product that is structurally stable but without use of any mortar in the construction. Dry stone walling is a popular choice for entranceways and boundary walls.
Wet Stone Walling
​
Built to look like a dry stone wall but uses mortar instead of stone hearting to give extra structural integrity. This type of wall is ideal for retaining walls in gardens and for taller walls and pillars.
Standard Walling
​
Using pre-cast bricks or blocks to produce a wall where the mortar is visible. This type of wall is great for landscaping, and all types of building work.
Lime Mortar Repointing and Masonry Repairs
Repairing and reconstruction of damaged masonry. This is often needed due to ageing and weather-related damage.
Lime mortar repointing is a specialised technique used to repair and restore the mortar joints in historic or traditional buildings.
​It involves replacing deteriorated mortar with a lime-based mortar, which is more breathable and compatible with the original materials than modern cement-based mortars.
